ESCL Expands into Hong Kong with Acquisition of Watterson Asia Limited:
ESCL announces the acquisition of Watterson Asia Limited ("Watterson") and the rebranding of Watterson as Evolution Watterson Securities Limited (“EWSL”). EWSL is based in Hong Kong and conducts corporate finance and securities dealing activities. Since it's inception in 2001, the firm has undertaken a wide variety of corporate finance and advisory functions and has led or co-led fundraisings for a number of companies in the listed Hong Kong market. David Tsang will remain as WASL chief executive. The board of ESCL believe that the Acquisition significantly enhances ESCL's current capability by giving it full access to Hong Kong equity markets on a primary and secondary basis. This acquisition complements its existing specialist research activities based in Shanghai and its primary and secondary activities in the London market. (June 2006)
